Comedy On The Terrace is a new series of outdoor, socially distanced comedy gigs taking place in the beer garden at one of London’s most iconic venues – Alexandra Palace.
Comedians such as Ed Gamble, Andrew Maxwell, Lou Sanders and Milton Jones will perform quick-fire sets of brand new material, alongside the best of their current repertoire, against the backdrop of Ally Pally and its panoramic views of London.
Taking place on Thursday evenings throughout the rest of the summer, starting on 13 August, the gigs will each feature three different acts and a compere to host the night.
First up on Thursday 13 August is Ed Gamble, Annie McGrath, Ahir Shah and Tania Edwards. Then, on 20 August, it’s Andrew Maxwell, Helen Bauer, Michael Akadiri and Elf Lyons.
On 27 August, Lou Sanders, Garrett Millerick, Glenn Moore and Julian Deane will take to the stage, and finally, on 3 September, it’s Milton Jones, with further acts to be announced.
To make a real night of it, there will also be street food and a large bar serving everything from indie craft beers and wine to cocktails, all of which can be ordered and paid for via an app.
‘It’s great to be performing for a live audience again, and what better place than on The Terrace at Ally Pally,’ says comedian Andrew Maxwell.
‘Live comedy has taken a huge hit this year and so it’s good to find new ways of making it happen, plus I’m looking forward to sharing the stage with three other brilliant acts on the night.’

Earlier this month, Alexandra Palace re-imagined its south-facing terrace and grounds as one of London’s biggest beer gardens, which it christened The Terrace. Covering 1,500 square meters and open Fridays to Sundays throughout the summer, The Terrace offers alfresco food, drinks and music.
The historic venue is also currently offering COVID-secure entertainment in the form of a drive-in cinema, and will soon welcome ENO Drive & Live, a drive-in live opera experience with English National Opera.
Comedy On The Terrace will run Thursdays from 13 August till 3 September, 6pm-10pm. Advanced booking is required (tables are available for 2-6 people). Tickets are £15pp. To book see alexandrapalace.com/theterrace
